Tenom Fatt Choi Cafe @ Tenom

It came to my surprise when I see this cafe in Tenom! I guess you too couldn't imagine that Tenom Fatt Choi has its own cafe and it's in Tenom somemore! Anyway, it's good to see some local brands expending their business especially to the rural areas and they deserved to be in my blog! =p If you haven't try Fatt Choi coffee in your life before, I think you should taste it at least once because it has the aroma which is so different from other types of coffee but the taste would be quite mild if you like strong coffee! Price is considered quite cheap and they serve quite a lot of varieties.

The menu...

If you want to buy the commercial packing ones, please do so because the price differs a lot (almost double the original price) if you buy it in KK!

So never forget to drop by this place for a cup of coffee before heading to some where else! Enjoy and have a nice day =)

Walkabout in Keningau When You Are Hungry

If you are looking for some simple Chinese food in Keningau town, you can come to this Garden 33 Restaurant! Just a piece of advice. If you are from a town or city along the coastal, I guess you should avoid ordering salt-water fish here because most of the fish comes from KK. You can order some of their famous dishes such as fried bitter gourd and fried seafood beancurd. And try to get some sinalau bakas as one of your dish on the table.. Hee.. Try if you haven't do so, it's very famous in Sabah!

Sinalau Bakas, RM 20/kg.. Bought from Tambunan-Keningau Road..

Fried Bitter Gourd.. Thicker version as compare to the one in KK. At least you can still taste some sweetness of it!

Fried Seafood Beancurd.. Everyone's favourite dish!

A vegetable as a source of fiber!

Average per person was about RM 20. Not too expensive for a table of 5! If you still have space to fit in your stomach, look for this Kedai Kopi Raya for their buns. The recommended time to visit them is around 2 pm. Not to be too early as their buns is still in the oven.

If you have some spare time or feel like having a break, you can go to Crocker Range Park which is about 10 km away from the town or the market a.k.a. night market. Just a reminder, if you have the entrance ticket for any of the Taman Tunku Abdul Rahman, you have free access to any other parks on the same day!

Enjoy and have a nice weekend =)

Budget Stay and Mahua Waterfall @ Tambunan

My friends and I have made a short trip to Tambunan and Keningau recently and this is my second trip there. Feel good to be back to places which are far from the city with not much traffic congestion and have some good spots to drink morning coffee rather than my 3-in-1 Nescafe which I used to drink every morning! Besides, it was an eventful day for the residents in Tambunan as they had their Tambunan Run 2015 in conjunction with the Harvest Festival. No, not me! I didn't join but my friends did.. Ha-ha..

Everyone looks eager to win the race! =) All the best guys....

Just a bit of pictures of where we stayed for a night in Tambunan. It was the dormitory at St Theresa's Church and located in its compound. If so happen that you are looking for a simple place to stay at Tambunan, this can be your option! Price range for each room is about RM 20 to 40 (very reasonable). No air-cond but the weather is cooling enough to get you to sleep soundly at night and lastly, it's all shared bathroom.

Our dormitory at St Theresa Church

RM 40 per room.. Reasonable priced!

And what else to do in Tambunan? It's definitely its beautiful Mahua Waterfall! I missed the super cool water so so much!!!!

Times when the crowd is not here yet! =)

And you have the waterfall all by your own! =p

To be continued....

Kedai Kopi Yee Fung @ Gaya Street, KK

If you ask Mr Google about Kedai Kopi Yee Fung, you will definitely get a lot of links because this shop has been at Gaya Street for many many years! If you have no idea of what to order, I  would recommend you to order Laksa. There are not many places which sells good laksa in Sabah but Yee Fung is one of the good one. Price for the food is quite reasonable after the price adjustment because of GST. So never leave this place out if you are here for holiday! It's easy to locate and come to this place. Make sure that you are here early to avoid big crowds especially during weekends and public holidays.

Located same row with MadBen cafe at Gaya Street...

Ice Lemon Ham Kat and 2-Layers Ice Milk tea.. RM 3 for each...

Yee Fung Laksa (RM 7), the most popular food to order here! Highly recommended...

Yee Fung Ngiu Chap (RM 7), suitable for those who likes spare parts. Just feel that the broth doesn't have the beef smell and taste. I still recommend Laksa more than this...

There are some other choices on the menu as well, maybe you can share the portion if you have more people in your group! Enjoy and have a nice weekend! =)
