Grub by Ah Hong @ Section 17, PJ

Grub by Ah Hong, a place for Western meal.

If you haven't been there, you must go there! Ambiance is just like a normal cafe but the food presentation is like the fining dining type with an affordable price. And one advice is that make sure that you make a booking first, or else you will be ended with disappointment unless you thought of having your dinner late (maybe around 9pm). And if you look through their kitchen, don't be afraid. The kitchen staff definitely did a good job by serving good food. =) Parking wise, parking is definitely hard to find unless you are lucky enough to get parking right in front of the shop.

The entrance of the shop. Limited space downstairs. And most of the tables are reserved!

North Borneo Cruise @ Sutera Harbour KK, Sabah

North Borneo Cruise has been in the top 10 list in Trip Advisor and considered as one of the must go places in KK. If you are looking for a good night place to enjoy the night view of KK city center or sunset in the middle of the sea, this is definitely a good choice for you. They have 2 sessions every night. You can either choose the Sunset Dinner (5-7 pm) or KK Night City Buffet Dinner (8-10 pm). Or if you want to organise any special events, you can make a special booking with them. As for the service and food, the staff are really great and helpful and the buffet is just simple and nice.

Penang Hill @ Penang Island

Penang Hill has been evolving for the past few year and it's now a super famous tourist spot on Penang Island (more famous than it was previously). I can see that many of its features e.g. ticketing system, the cable car and the entertainment it contains adapted from other countries that I have been. And one more thing that is very great is that it has a multi-stories building for you to park your car to solve your trouble for looking for road-side parking and there are many buses to get you there as well! So if you haven't been there, make sure that you go there for at least once and I am sure that you will like it! =)

The queue is long as early as 8 am! You can choose to pay the standard pay to queue up for the cable car or pay more to get into the fast lane to skip the queue..

Very nice cable car.. Since it is so packed during peak hours, you can't really enjoy the comfort in the cable car during the ride..

"We are on Penang Hill!" =) A clear sky to start our day..

Cafe # 1 on Penang Hill

Cafe # 2 on Penang Hill

The bridge for love locks.. Couples, you can save your money by getting your own lock! =p

The Hindu Temple

The Mosque

The Guard's Gate

And it's time to say good-bye because it is starting to get hot at around 11 something..

Be thankful that we went there early! Look at the crowd at noon!

We shall come again next time! =)

Enjoy and have a nice day..

Ong Cheng Huat Seafood @ Bagan Lallang, Butterworth Penang

When you talk about Penang, you definitely cannot run away from good food, and Ong Cheng Huat Seafood is one of them! The freshness of the seafood is comparable with those in Sabah but they have quite a limited choices to choose from. Anyway, you will definitely go for the best of the best dishes that they serve if you go there once in a blue moon. And another thing, make sure that you know the way there because it's quite hidden from the main road.

Ong Cheng Huat Seafood, they open for lunch only but till around 5pm..

Simple Fried Bihun.. Just for some carbo loads..

Steamed Snapper Fish Head.. A special taste which is a bit sour.. Tasted like the Thai steamed fish but this version is without the garlic! =)

Blanched Octopus.. This is one of the good dish which you can taste the freshness of it! You can just chew it without the sauce.. Awesome..

Stirred-fry Clams with ginger and rice wine.. Taste good and each of it is huge in size..

Deep Fried Spring Chicken... Very standard dish and it's one of their specialty..

Prawn Fritters.. Take it like snacks and you will definitely ask for more! =)

The service is super fast and the price is quite reasonable, just slightly higher than average for the amount of food that we ordered for 6 person. So, it is suggested that not to miss this out for lunch if you happen to pass by this place!

Enjoy and have a nice day..

Bits and Bits of Bidor, Ipoh and Pusing! (back dated 26-27 Dec 2014)

I have not gone back to my dad's hometown at Pusing and have my eating trip to Ipoh, Perak since I have came to Sabah and work. Finally, the waiting has ended! Though it was a short trip but everything was good and I did managed to taste back some of the wonderful "missed" food for years...

First stop, Bidor. I guess the first thing that come across your mind should be the famous duck noodle at Pun Chun Restaurant. Well, not for this time! As for this time, we went for the famous Wantan noodle at the Bidor Food court. I can say that their noodle was not too bad, chewy and not too salty and MSG-ed. Overall above average, at least better as compared to many other Wantan noodle in KL! Other side dishes include pork leg and Yong Tauhu. If you want to buy salted chicken in Bidor, you can buy from the small stall beside the food court. Whole chicken will cost you about RM 19! =)

Second stop, Ipoh. When you talk about Ipoh beansprout chicken rice, there are quite a number of famous shops in Ipoh and one of it is Lou Wong. One thing quite disappointed with this place was the portion is set and it was kind of over estimated especially when you have small eaters on your table! So my advice is "Don't other too much if you can't really eat to avoid wastage!" Other side dishes include meat balls and chicken feet. Chicken feet is a must try dish because it has a very special taste which is difficult to describe..

Super big portion for 4 person...

Third stop, Ipoh as well. Restaurant Thean Chun in Ipoh Old Town is famous for its Hor Fun, pork satay and the dessert, egg custard. Try to avoid to come to this shop during peak season e.g. long weekends, festive season etc. because it's really really really congested and it may take up to one hour to wait for the Hor Fun. But at the meantime, you can order some other specialties from the shop e.g. pork satay with internal organs, "sotong kangkung" and even the super smooth dessert, egg custard!

Super smooth egg custard, but it's a bit too sweet because of the caramel.. Anyway, once in a while.. =p

Chicken, pork satay with internal organs... Internal organs are the most hot selling item from that stall!

Ipoh Hor Fun.. Super smooth Hor Fun with very heavy soup base..

And lastly, Pusing. Time to visit my uncles and aunties. But before that, Wan Tao Long (Jelly Ice drink) is a MUST drink before heading to their house! This stall is located right in front of the mini food court and it's difficult to miss this! You can order the Jelly Ice to be with coconut milk or lime juice... Both tastes equally good especially under the hot weather!

That's all for this trip. Looking forward for when is my next trip back to Ipoh is going to be! =)

Enjoy and have a nice day..

Poring Hotspring Visit (back dated on 28 Dec 2013)

When people talk about Poring in Sabah, what we know is just hotspring. Poring is a small tourist spot which is about 30 minutes drive from Ranau town and 45 minutes drive from Kundasang town. Weather at Poring is rather hot than those cooling weather at Kundasang because it is at the valley. Spending time at this place is a very good option whereby you can really get close to the nature and it's really hard to find such a place on earth anymore!! And remember, when you are approaching Poring, look out for this!! "Rafflesia Blooming"!!

Whenever there is any wild Rafflesia blooming, they will put this up. This might be once in a life time for many tourist as this plant is not found in many other country and it has a life spend of about 1 week only... So, how lucky are we!!!

There might be some trekking need to be done. Some might take up about 15-20 minutes walk into the woods.

Rafflesia buds...

Here you go! RAFFLESIA!!!

After visiting the Rafflesia garden, just drive 3-5 minutes down the road and you will reach Poring! Poring not only has a hotspring, you can also visit the waterfall, mini parks and even the canopy walk! Spend half a day there and you will find that it's worth to travel all the way there for all these!! Opening hours is 8am to 5pm. Plan your journey well and try to travel back to where you stay before it gets dark!

Going to be my wallpaper!!! I love this very much...

Enjoy and have a nice day... =)
